January Training Opportunity – Annual Symposium

Cambridge Real Estate Services recognizes the importance of providing continuing education to its employees and we are excited to have the opportunity to provide training this January at our 2016 Annual Symposium located in Portland, Oregon.

The symposium will be held January 12th-14th :

Tuesday, January 12th — Afternoon Affordable Housing Training (only affordable properties should attend)

Wednesday, January 13th — All Day Training at Convention Center + Employee Recognition (all properties)

Thursday, January 14th — Half Day Training (all properties)

Yellow Pages Scam

We’re starting to receive comments from sites regarding solicitation from advertisers claiming to be working with the ‘Yellow Pages’ or other similar companies.  Please keep in mind the following…

  • We do not advertise in phone books for any property, under any circumstance
  • Beware of ad solicitations that look like invoices
  • Invoices appear to be authentic by using familiar logos and names of local directories
  • By signing or paying these will often times lock you into a contract
  • Cashing checks from these companies can enroll you into a commitment either in the yellow pages or internet advertising.  They can be difficult to challenge
  • Often times they will call asking to speak to someone in charge of advertising.  By simply confirming your address could lock you into some type of commitment

Please keep these tips in mind should you ever receive anything similar to the above.  If you’re unsure or have any questions, please consult with your supervisor before making any commitments.

Yardi Weekly Payable Report Reminder

***IMPORTANT PAYABLES REMINDER***

 

Greetings Managers!

 

All YARDI site managers MUST print their payables report from the ‘Weekly Payable Report’ side menu option and NOT from the batch payable screen. The weekly payable report is the report you send into the CRES office.

Memorial Day Holiday – May 25th 2015

Dear Site Managers,

 

Monday May 25th is Memorial Day Holiday! Except for a few special circumstances all offices, sites and support office will be closed in observance of the holiday. Contact your property supervisor if you are unsure as to whether your office will be closed.

 

  • As a reminder, if an employee’s regularly scheduled day off is Monday, another day during the pay period should be taken as the holiday.
  • Your holiday hours are already plugged in in your online time sheet. Unless your work on May 25th, you do not need to put in any hours for that day.
  • If you or your staff works on May 25th then they should be recording their hours worked on your time sheet.

 

Holiday Pay:

  • Employees who work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for holiday pay after their first 30 days of employment.
  • To receive holiday pay employee must work both the scheduled day prior and after a holiday; except if was pre-approved time off by the manager.
  • If an employee was scheduled to work the day before or after and cannot work (except in an emergency situation) they will not receive holiday pay.

Referral Fee Flyer Reminder

Need to Boost Your Marketing Efforts?

You can find your property’s customized Referral Fee flyer posted on the eExchange in the Filing Cabinet section of the website.

Reminder that $150 is the set standard for referral fees. If you really need to amp up your marketing to fill a lot of vacancies contact your supervisor about distributing the $300 version — supervisor approval must be obtained for this referral fee amount.

Resident referrals can be a great way to get some buzz started about your vacancies and help find qualified applicants that may become a valued resident of your community.  For more information on these flyers and other marketing efforts check out the Cambridge University – Resident Referrals webpage.

Coverage During Time Off

Sites,

Going forward, when requesting time off work for more than three (3) days, please include a coverage plan for your property in the Time Off request form in Kronos.

Please make sure you include the name of the employee(s) who will be covering for you during your absence. This information should be included in the comment section when requesting time off.  See Below:
